THE RESTORATION PRINCIPLE

The church of Christ is a part of a movement in the eighteenth century to go back to the roots of Christianity in the first century. To this end several men began to proclaim that the New Testament as the only rule of faith and practice in the church. Creeds and manuals written by uninspiried men were to be avoided. Their cry was, "Let us speak where the Bible speaks and be sillent where the Bible is silent." This movement gave rise to the largest Christian group which had its origins in the United States. We will re-examine this restoration principle.______________ SUNDAY EVENING we will begin a series entitled, "The Jesus I Thought I Knew" Each session will be introduced by Philip Yancy via. DVD.
